Christmas this year will be a little different for us. The Tricoteiras’s website is launching, for the first time in Brazil, the Wrap of Advent, a project to knit along (KAL) for 24 days before Christmas. The pattern is the creation of Valesca Fortunato, the sweet knitter of this site, solely for this occasion.

The activity is inspired by the Advent Calendar, a strong European tradition, especially in Germany. Those who are Christians may have heard of Advent, the period beginning four Sundays before Christmas, when the faithful prepare for the arrival of Jesus Christ. One day, someone came up with a calendar with 24 windows that should be opened during 24 days (one each day) before Christmas. When opening the little windows, the person who received the calendar reads messages of peace and love, sincere wishes of those who gave the card.

In our Wrap of Advent, we will reveal pieces of the recipe from December 1^st to 24^th, made with Magic Fog from Aslan Trends (or any “yarn” you want). If you knit every day, on the 24^th day your stole should be ready and you will be able to use it at Christmas dinner or give it to a loved one (and do not forget to send the photo to us: contato@tricoteiras.com). So, while you knit, you take your mind off the waiting for Christmas, visualizing good things as you knit each pattern

To make the Wrap of Advent you will need:
2 skeins of Magic Fog from Aslan Trends or similar
5.5 mm needles (preferably circular, with at least 80cm of wire).
15 markers (to mark the repetitions of points if you find it necessary)
80 beads (optional)
Tapestry needle for weaving the ends
