Delovely Shawl – EN version

Because I love Cole Porter I decided to give the name of one of my favorite songs :)

A shawl? A stole? A scarf? All in one! You can use it however you want.

Materials
Yarn: 2 balls of Stardust (Red Heart, 70% wool, 25% nylon, 3% metalic – 185m/50gr)

Needle: 4mm. I recommend circular needles, at least 80cm long (32″)

Acessories: marker, tapestry needle, pins for blocking.

1,36m x 34cm

Gauge (in Stockinette Stich, after blocked)
16sts x 28 rows = 10cm(4″)

Directions


Lace Edging
Cast on 14 sts.

Row 1: K.
Row 2: YO, k2tog, k to the end of row.

Repeat the last two rows once more. Total 4 rows.

Start chart. Work rows 1-28 ow chart 15 times.

After you have done the last row of edging, do:

Row 1: K.
Row 2: YO, k2tog, k to the end of row.

Repeat the last two rows once more.

Bind off remaining sts. Don’t break yarn.

Pick up triangle stitches

With the right side facing you, pick up the stitches along side the edging. Each yarn over you did previously = 1 st. Total 214 sts.

Turn your work (WS). Knit 107sts, place a marker, knit the following 107sts.

Next row (RS), K until the last 2 sts before marker, Kb&f twice, slip marker, Kb&f twice, k to the end of row. Total 109 + 109 = 218sts.

Knit more 6 rows.

Now we are going to start working short rows.

Setup:

  • Right Side: k to marker, slip marker, k2, ssk. Turn.
  • Wrong side: slip first st. P to the marker, slip marker, p2, p2tog. Turn.

Now, you are going to do:

  • Row 1 (RS): slip 1st, k to last turn-stitch, k2, ssk. Turn.
  • Row 2 (WS): slip 1st, p to last turn-stitch, p2, p2tog. Turn.

 

Do the rows 1 and 2 until all the sts are back on needles.

Next 4 rows: K.

Bind off.

 

Finishing

Weave in ends and block firmly.
